Well, I guess there is a difference between impressions and hard numbers....

While we've had a bit of a cold snap and brisk wind, it's not enough to account for my first full tank on the new tires being way down on mileage. Right now I'm at an average of about 36mpg. Yikes!

My most favorable conditions for fuel economy are in the morning on my way to work. If I reset the Ultragauge at my gas station and drive in, I can typically average 60-63mpg. For example:


This morning warmed up a little and had no wind and light traffic... and it was a struggle to get 52mpg.

I'm hoping this is just an issue of the tires needing to wear in a little, since my mileage was supposed to increase, not decrease.
