I've since sold my Del Sol, but after around 4 years of driving that car, I found it didn't actually respond very well to anything but P&G + engine off coasting. The difference in MPG between cruising at 55 and 70 was less than 15% (as compared to around 40% in my new car), and even significant aeromods basically disappeared into background noise without P&G. Due to the very short transmission, the engine was always running at very low load / high RPM and it seems to me that the lion's share of efficiency loss was from that. If you want better mileage, swap the tranny for an LS 5MT (or at least the final drive), and/or pulse and glide with EoC.
