My car is a 2003 Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 6spd. I have this car for 5 years but only recently I wanted to explore the ways for drive her more economically. I started my hypermiling since half way of last tank of gas, and the result was promising as already seeing 0.7km/L improvements as shown from the trip computer.
here is a list of mods I have currently
1) alu under engine tray
2) lowered suspension
3) high performance air filter
4) high performance 2.5" cat-back exhaust
Today I have removed the front strut bar to save some weight
Next idea I have is to improve on low-rev power since my experience with hypermiling will use more low-rev range about 2k~ 2.5k rpm of the engine.
I am considering ECU remap as I read it improve all range engine efficiency and adapt with aftermarket mods that I have (air-filter & exhaust) and generally provide better fuel efficiency when drive sensibly.
I see many physical mods being recommended here however I do not found much info about chipping their vehicle. Can someone please share their experience ? or what kind of results should I be expecting?
