I still don't understand why family's of 3 need a big SUV. The only people you are going to haul are yourselves, and if you haul equipment you can just borrow a friend's truck (everybody knows at least 5 friends with a truck in Oklahoma, but other places you might have at least 1). You don't need that used $40,000 Chevy Tahoe to haul around 3 people, and get only 10-15 MPG. You could just buy a new $24,000 Civic with leather, or get the Fit for only $16,000. Both have plenty of room and horsepower for 3 people and get 30 MPG on a bad day.

Hey I have a family of three! We feel the need for something larger than my wife's Kia Rio. Neither of us are truck/SUV people, but with her large family (stereotypical Hispanic family, LOL), we find ourselves being visited by or visiting her family, and having seating for 5 in the Rio is limiting. I also haul fairly regularly in the course of landlording for my mother-in-law. So, we would like to move up to a minivan.
