I've always preferred smaller, efficient cars, and now I only own ebikes, bikes and e-motorcycle.

I think a lot of people like big vehicles because they are usually safer in a collision with another vehicle. I also agree with the other points made.

I really don't like larger, less efficient cars. They cost way to much to maintain and are much more difficult to drive. I prefer just driving around in my Civic and not having to worry about fitting in parking spots and fitting in a gas station. The day that I use an SUV or larger vehicle as a daily driver is when the world will end.

Women on dating sites describe themselves as "curvy" or "curvaceous," but I am not interested when their curves resemble the Michelin Man.

Never can figure out why I am single...
I could care less as long as the woman is cute (cute face trumps other stuff) and not old enough to be my mother, I too end up single because I have no conversation skills.

Oddly "they" seem to sit on the phone and are impossible to get their attention. Talk to them 5 seconds and they zone out for their phone mid sentence. But its my fault.

Ah well, I too like a large car in place of suburban if its a manual with a diesel and can haul lots of stuff.

But when it isn't hauling you just need a little 2 seater.

Suburban's wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't only 1-2 people in them all the time

Why do you need a suburban, when you can have a tahoe, why a tahoe, when you can have a Ford escape, why an escape, when you can have an escape hybrid, why an escape hybrid, when you can have a prius V, why a prius V, when you can have a prius, why a prius, when you can have a Nissan leaf, why have a leaf, when you can have an ecomodded leaf!

Why have an ecomodded leaf when you can just spend $20 on your already paid off Civic for ecomods?

I still don't understand why family's of 3 need a big SUV. The only people you are going to haul are yourselves, and if you haul equipment you can just borrow a friend's truck (everybody knows at least 5 friends with a truck in Oklahoma, but other places you might have at least 1). You don't need that used $40,000 Chevy Tahoe to haul around 3 people, and get only 10-15 MPG. You could just buy a new $24,000 Civic with leather, or get the Fit for only $16,000. Both have plenty of room and horsepower for 3 people and get 30 MPG on a bad day.

People may buy for status and image or they may buy for perceived value. SUVs were originally designed for off road fishing trips. Loggers and farmers buy 4x4 trucks for field work. Super duty trucks are used for hauling trailers carrying construction equipment or horses. A car with a long wheelbase and a V8 engine is most comfortable on a long trip. I once had a 3 ton Cadillac hearse that got 13 mpg highway and 10 city. It had a longer bed than a truck and I was fresh as a daisy after five hours on the road. Most of the time I found a 4 cyl. four door car to be adequate with 35 mpg highway. With more than 3 small children a van is needed. The passenger-miles per gallon is about the same. For local trips within 10 miles I ride a bike. Streamline any vehicle and the efficiency increases by up to 50%.

Hey I have a family of three! We feel the need for something larger than my wife's Kia Rio. Neither of us are truck/SUV people, but with her large family (stereotypical Hispanic family, LOL), we find ourselves being visited by or visiting her family, and having seating for 5 in the Rio is limiting. I also haul fairly regularly in the course of landlording for my mother-in-law. So, we would like to move up to a minivan.
