Victor, The heavy duty blue connector between the charger and the battery has two functions. First the charger has four banks, it can charge four different smaller batteries at the same time, but in this case I need to connect all eight leads, 4 positive and 4 negative to this one battery. So I used the blue connector to combine the 4 + and 4- into one of each.
The connector also allows me to remove the charger from the car and use it for charging other batteries.
