While they emit less CO2, thinking & research about diesels in Europe goes exactly the opposite way.
More NOx than gasoline ain't all that good for air quality.
And the smallest diesel nano-particulates (after "filtering" by a soot filter, which essentially reduces their size below what's being officially measured) when inhaled, go straight into the blood stream.
