Those hoods actually force air into the engine bay from the base of the windshield. The point where the hood meets the windshield is a high pressure area, which is why the inlet for the HVAC system is located there. To improve aero, the angle of the hood and windshield would have to be pretty close to each other, so achieving that isn't likely on 99% of cars out there. You're better off using a hood vented at the front, redirecting engine bay air from under the car to over it.
