Playing with the converter lockup is a great way to hurt the converter. It's only there for helping MPG at light-throttle cruise, nothing else. You go trying these ideas, you'll be needing a custom triple-clutch converter at well over $1000. If there's even space for one. Sometimes you don't know better than GM, just ask the guys on LS1tech.com if you don't believe me. Or the guys on RV.net. Or I could name a dozen more.
If you want to maintain electric to the radio with the engine off, then replace the ignition hot with a constant hot. But cruising with the engine off means the ATF isn't getting pumped.
The correct solution is cheap. Swap the 4T65E for a Getrag 282 from the salvage yard.
