turning on engine with out killing accessories automatic?

I have a 96 lesabre that I would like to install a kill switch for eoc but it has an automatic transmission so I will have to use the starter to get the engine going again but I don't want to loose power to my ultra gauge radio and other accessories. Has anyone covered this before? Any ideas?

You would want to do it two ways: wire it to your fuel injectors, and another switch to your torque converter lockup. Engage lockup first! Then cut off injectors. You maintain power to your accessories and the locked up converter still allows your transmission's fluid to be pumped, keeping you from trashing the transmission in a month or two. The two-switch setup is the best I can think of unless someone can think of a better setup for a GM full-size FWD.

Having a torque converter lockup switch could also boost my fuel mileage so I'll make sure to do that asap. I am planning on cutting power to the injectors but I want to be able to activate the starter without it shutting off everything else

Is the UG set on hybrid mode? rewire the radio to have a constant 12V.
The head lights will probably still go out.

Playing with the converter lockup is a great way to hurt the converter. It's only there for helping MPG at light-throttle cruise, nothing else. You go trying these ideas, you'll be needing a custom triple-clutch converter at well over $1000. If there's even space for one. Sometimes you don't know better than GM, just ask the guys on LS1tech.com if you don't believe me. Or the guys on RV.net. Or I could name a dozen more.
If you want to maintain electric to the radio with the engine off, then replace the ignition hot with a constant hot. But cruising with the engine off means the ATF isn't getting pumped.
The correct solution is cheap. Swap the 4T65E for a Getrag 282 from the salvage yard.
The guys on either Fiero forum can tell you how.

UG doesn't have a hybrid mode. You have to fiddle with four separate parameters to find a combo that works.

On mine, I added an "auxiliary start button", it's a stand alone circuit that I wired directly to the start terminal of the starter. starting the car with the key is unaffected / normal. With the key on, the extra button can start the car. With the key off or not even in the car, the button will turn the engine over.

Yea it does, I can't remember what it's called, but it's basically hybrid mode.

I searched 'hybrid' in the user manual and didn't find any mention?

If ultragauge at times enters low power mode and briefly turns off the display ... increase the number of retries (5 is default) until the behavior stops. A side effect of increasing the value is that ultragauge will remain on for a longer time after the ignition is switched to off. Changing this setting to a value greater than ~45 is not recommended.

Changing the value from 5 to 33 keeps the ultragauge on for 10 seconds after the toggle (ignition) is switched off. This is plenty of time to switch the toggle back on, and then the ultragauge continues to stay on.
