Yeahbut...

I think this is going to be a very temporary price dip; raise the tax and it'll be there for the inevitable price "correction".

I can't speak for other States but mine raised the gas tax just a year or two ago and now some factions want to do it again. I think in this case it's a little too soon to come back to the trough for more.

The thing about taxes is, once there they almost never go away or go down.

I have some issues with how it's spent too... but what do I know?

I oppose mileage-based tax collections- I believe it would require a most intrusive and unwieldy support system.
