Unless Elio gets big bucks from the GOVT, it ain't gonna happen, and even if he gets funds from any source it will not sell for $6800. You're talking about a manufacturing capability, dealer franchises, and franchised repair facilities. Figure a billion $ to get it going and support the system until profits from sales provide cash flow.
They were supposed to start selling in 2014 and it seems like they have not even finalized the components, much less a functional assembly line. It would probably take a half million sales to break even and that would require a profit per unit of $2k to pay the billion.
