"Since getting this rear end I noticed there is a very loud growl when decelerating in OVERDRIVE, AND ONLY OVERDRIVE above 2100rpm. I have no idea what's causing it. I drove the car this rear end came out of, and it was whisper quiet in all gears at all speeds (but it was a 5-speed)."


Double check the driveshaft flange bolts, they may have backed out. The bolts on the flange of my old blue Lincoln worked loose and the symptoms of that were similar to what you're describing.
