If changing the clocks is what's so bad about it, we should just change what we call standard.
Twice a year my Grandma complains about DST - that she is OK with "summer" time but she doesn't feel good during "winter" time. I've tried explaining that "winter" time is the correct time for our longitude, that maybe it's not about "summer" and "winter" times, but about long warm summer days and short cold winter days, that she is retired and can wake up whenever she wants to, etc., but finally gave up. Now I only reply: "If you like your time 1 hour ahead, then move 1 timezone east."

The truth is that we keep shifting our "people" clocks relative to Nature's time, depending on when stores open and close, what movie is being played and on which channel, how many other important things we had to read about on EcoModder late in the evening, ... And even if we shift our clocks by 2h every other day, then the Sun and Moon are still going stay in their cycles. Our measure of time is arbitrary, so we can do with it as we want.

What matters is where you're going, not how fast.
