i don't think the simulation on the weinermobile is very accurate as it's likely air merges in the wake at the rear below the weiner, not that it would suddenly become more aerodynamic but it would make a difference.
it's one of the downsides of this program that it shows the flow only along the center axis of the vehicle and doesn't take into account the full 3d body, with air comming of the side etc.
for example a tatra with it's tailfin would look almost as boxy as the volvo in side profile.
so while a simulation on a boxy vehicle like the volvo might be pretty close to reality it won't be for more complex shapes.
just a thought though, i really like this program especially it's ease of use, but what would be really nice is an open source 3d flow visualiser, it could be equally "artistic", but imagine the revolution if things like airdams and spoilers, and vg's could be tested to determin an aproximate idial size and placeing before we'd do on road testing!
