I know there are plenty of kits around for high performance engines. Snow performance is one brand. I've heard about people using washer fluid in a jug too. Hook a vacuum source to the top of a jar, use another tube with a fish tank bubbler on the end to the top as well, fill half way with washer fluid. As the engine pull vacuum on the jar, air is pulled through the air stone/bubbler creating a fine mist that is inhaled by the engine.

Problem with DIY is that it's hard to control and doesn't inject as much while in low vacuum situations. Systems with a pump and injector nozzles hooked into the intake tube are safer and more consistent.
