Thinking you are making your 1996 Honda civic faster by putting a loud muffler and exhaust system on it just baffles me. But again as a mechanic I value the vehicle for what it is.

What is really retarded is you can buy an ls1 drivetrain with ecu and trans for $2300, and if you wanted to swap a 210hp integra motor into a civic you would pay the same price if not more.
Or you do what my Nephew and I did, buy a Integra with 300k. Pull the head off, put some valve seal's in it and clean the crap out of it. Install some used $40.00 head studs with a new $70.00 ebay bought MLS gasket. Buy a used four puck $60.00 ebay clutch setup with p-plate. Some piece of crap $125.00 ebay turbo manifold with a $300.00 ebay turbo FMIC kit. New $300.00 set of 98lbs injectors. Get a used Chinese knock off 60-1 turbo for $250.00 and run a free version of CROME with a new $175.00 Moates Ostrich.
Used innovate LM1 WB with gauge for $50.00 STR Intake used $125.00.
Ebay waste gate and BOV $300.00. Ebay half radiator used $50.00
A few other parts but right at $2000.00 in modifications.
Took it to the track almost every weekend for a whole Summer and the car with my slicks ran 10.90 @ 132 mph with pump premium and a splash of VP C16. This was with a full interior at stock weight. He drove to and from the track and to work everyday. Plus a ton of miles just out joy riding with his friends. The car would get around 30 mpg combine and 36 mpg freeway. The stock rod/piston engine lasted after he sold it for another 5 years with two different owners without one issue.

So if you know how to shop for good used parts and know how to tune, you can build a fairly fast Honda on a budget.

My Sons Civic with a stock D15 13.4 @ 112mph. Under $1000.00 in engine mods.

My Civic I sold to my Nephew, stock B16 11.9 @ 125 MPH. Under 1500.00 in engine mods.

Sons Friends Civic stock D16Z6 12.8 @122 mph. Under 1500.00 in engine mods.

Sons Civic stock Foreign exchange D16 12.8@ 120 MPH. Under $1500.00

My Del Sol built Vitara D16 Z6 build 508 whp. Under $3000.00

My first Honda build Civic built D16Z6. Under $3000.00 in engine mods
11.3 @ 135 MPH
