The decision was made by Mitsubishi. I was interested in the car, but the drop in gas prices put the brakes on sales as it always does.

They told me I could get $2koff my best bargained price. That made the decision for me and the fact that many had sat here a year or longer, implies that they over produced even though they sold 16k in the US in 2014,when their projection was 7k. The price also dropped in Canada.

Simply speaking I was on the fence and they changed the game making the choice obvious. Watching 3dplane climb to #4 in the gas cars at 65.3, was a strong selling point to me. Calling it the new Metro, I understand,but compared to the Mirage my VX was a tin can, and Metros are worse.

The decision was solidified when I got the $12871 (2014) price quote. When I handed them the two checks and they offered me a year newer for another $94 and it was not black, the deal was done. While to an observer it might have seemed fast, it was more like a trap being sprung.

If they offered me a CVT for the price I paid, I would have taken it, but not for a penny more.
