Later some 65-70 on the Interstate made no real difference even though the engine was at 3500 at 70, probably some atkinsion programming on the intake cam. Sentra would have been 37-39.
5th gear 3k rpm at 60 1000 per 20 mph (VX is 1k per 30mph). Peak torque (74) at 4k, HP (74) at 6,500 redline.
It took a few miles to get the hang of it, don't need to launch at 3k when 2k will work fine. Tires were at 30psi after this fill, now at 48, sidewall 44.
Long stroke, big
I don't read many car rags anymore. The Mirage represents a transitional vehicle for me, more appliance where before it was that I truly loved cars.
I still love this car. Short term cash reserve still healthy.
Is the upholstery cheap. It's brand new and it ain't creaking or rattling, works for me and easy cleanup. If it was as nice as a Mercedes Benz, Benz would be out of business.
Does it handle good. LMAO ask Nicky, he's in charge of the Joey Chitwood maneuvers . It handles fine and I'm not doing anything to mess up the warranty, maybe the trailer hitch hehe.
Thanks to 3dplane for the first had reports and the fantastic fuel economy. With all the modern enhancements, but retaining a cable operated clutch (no hydraulics) but ps, pb, p-windows, locks, climate control ac, cd, p-mirrors and all the rest of the long list, for what I paid for it, I think I did great. Oh did I say I love the car.

Neat good to hear you found a great dealer. So did you get the cvt or the manual? Sounds like you got a 2015 manual?

I would rather have a used honda civic or honda fit than a new mirage, there's only so much I can sacrifice for fuel economy and to me the mirage is ugly and under powered.
I actually really enjoy my brothers 5 speed lancer gt

Because I'm old, my worn out joints hurt and I have enough cash to buy another one and a half if I want to, but I only need 1. Like Cowmeat says.
"With my gas money saved, I BOUGHT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a brand new 84 CRX 1.5 for $7k, 31 years ago, serial number 1018 made in July 1983, bought in Houston, worked at the Benz dealership, Intercontinental Motors. 45 mpg for 50k miles.
I remember when the Beatles sang "When I'm 64."
The first time.
Hope your cartilage holds up better than mine there Chrysler Kid, not meant as any snarky remark, it's just true.

I would have to agree that charcoal grey is the best looking color on this car.

Lol you already responded to that post, and you already mentioned the crx.
You're good it just seemed like a rushed decision, pushing 60 years old I'm sure I won't care what I drive

Sometimes, but certainly not always, spur of the moment gut decisions are the best decisions. Story time! I had been researching and pricing used diesel trucks for literally three months and hadn't seriously considered a car at all. I had 4 different trucks sold after I inquired about them, but before I could make the trip (from 6 to 18 hours away to give an idea about how picky I was being) to look at them in person.
I was doing my daily Craigslist and local dealer search when I saw Vera Lynn at the dealership the wife got her Pathfinder from last year. I did about 4 hours of research and comparisons, and ended up driving the car home 3 hours later. The new car price with a 100k mile warranty was less than all but one of the trucks (and all had >120k on the odometer) I would have bought had they not gotten sold. It will be an inconvenience maybe two or three days a month working out of a car instead of a truck, but it's more than worth it compared to the money I expect to save from the difference in purchase price and ownership costs. Not to mention the car is more fun to drive than a truck anyway.
And not trying to be rude, but some of us don't care what we drive when we're only halfway to 60. Possessions don't make the person; the thoughts, words, and actions do.

The decision was made by Mitsubishi. I was interested in the car, but the drop in gas prices put the brakes on sales as it always does.
They told me I could get $2koff my best bargained price. That made the decision for me and the fact that many had sat here a year or longer, implies that they over produced even though they sold 16k in the US in 2014,when their projection was 7k. The price also dropped in Canada.
Simply speaking I was on the fence and they changed the game making the choice obvious. Watching 3dplane climb to #4 in the gas cars at 65.3, was a strong selling point to me. Calling it the new Metro, I understand, but compared to the Mirage my VX was a tin can, and Metros are worse.
The decision was solidified when I got the $12871 (2014) price quote. When I handed them the two checks and they offered me a year newer for another $94 and it was not black, the deal was done. While to an observer it might have seemed fast, it was more like a trap being sprung.
If they offered me a CVT for the price I paid, I would have taken it, but not for a penny more.
regards
mech
