Ease of installation. An MPGuino installation is somewhat involved, requiring that you tap into a fuel injector ground and your VSS, and then tune it.
With a vacuum gauge, higher vacuum at a given RPM means less fuel is being burned, but it obviously doesn't give you a rolling average of fuel used, relate it to distance traveled, or allow you to compare fuel consumption at different RPM. On the other hand, vacuum is a really good indicator of load, which is not shown by an MPGuino. Different instruments, but I feel that overall an MPGuino would be more useful to you.
