To be fair, there have historically been a
lot of innovations that were only needed for racing conditions at one point which have found their way into modern vehicles.
That said, even in my subcompact car I feel safe enough with a seatbelt and airbags.
On any kind of motorcycle or trike, I wouldn't feel safe on public roads regardless of how I am strapped in. It's an irrational fear that I've had ever since I was 8 or 9 and witnessed a guy and his wife fly through the air off a bike when they T-boned a car that didn't see them coming and pulled out of a side street.
