I'll be honest with you, the more comfortable you are in your vehicle (less road noise, more comfortable seats) the more inclined you are to slow down and just cruise it along, and in turn, better mileage.

[Edit]: I am proof of this. I drive 70-75mph because my car is loud and uncomfortable. If I didn't get 70mpg I would honestly ditch the car for something else. I am focusing my efforts on other aspects of the car at (turbo, OBDIIC&C, IMAC&C) then I'm going to install S2k seats, steering wheel, tint the windows, and thicker cushion under the carpet to quiet the car down.
