Good old "too big to fail" may have lost this round.
GM would like to think they own the license to the software, but you didn't sign or click a license agreement when you bought the vehicle so it looks like they don't own it as much as they want to, or thought they did.
Expect to see that change now.
GM believes and is still arguing that vehicle owners do not own the vehicle software.
I believe they are expecting a retroactive law that totally violates the constitution giving them ownership of software going back who knows how long.
