also be careful with advanced timing, it will affect your smog emissions.
Back when i had my del sol, i swapped out the engine for a japanese engine. I failed smog inspection because my timing was advanced.
When i adjusted the timing back down to USDM spec, i passed smog, but now my mpg's noticeably dropped as well.
