Working hard for that 50...

I got a little work done today! Not anywhere near the amount that I wanted to though. This heat wave we're having has got me in mode. I did not want to work on anything until after 4:00 today. It was 98* at 8:00!

Started by cleaning all of the duct tape and duct tape off of the front of Ecoscort. Whoever made GooGone deserves a medal, that junk is da bomb!

Looks soo much better than it did! It will be interesting to see if the open places where my foglights would have gone have any effect on aerodynamics. I think it will be moot. I am still going to design a cover for them without duct tape because I am anal in that way

Next on the agenda was to fix this vacuum line that ran from the purge solenoid to the throttle body. The PCM had thrown a code for a line on the purge solenoid being possibly kinked and inhibiting flow. sure enough, it was kinked badly. A modified T connector from O'Rilleys worked out great.

Then I de-ghettoed the air intake.

In case you're wondering, that is the end piece of a pen

Vacuum cap added:

Re-did the MAF wiring. The previous attempt was horrible. This time the lines soldered well and came out much cleaner.

Finally, I got my warm air intake back on It is wrapped in duct tape to seal off cooler air from entering. The only air it will be sucking in will be from over the exhaust manifold!

Installed:

Tomorrow I hope to have the TCC wired up to a toggle switch so I can have lock up at 30 mph rather than waiting till 43 mph. I also am going to wire up the radiator fan to run on a toggle switch and operate only in high mode, for faster cooling.
