Probably not. The trailer is low and wide, and the kayak fits nicely in the notch above the nose box. It only sticks out maybe 3 inches on either side. The canoe rides right in the van's wake and tapers out nicely... but it's not centered. Tarping that into a larger boattail will have bigger problems with drag and visibility than any benefits feom filling in the van's wake above the trailer.
