What kind of a welder made the hole too big? If it is oxy-acetylene a smaller tip might help.
I haven't tried it yet. need some cut-off wheels that i'll get on the way home to finish cutting the blanks.
MIG is what I used. steel wire. always was told in order to weld steel to stainless, an SS rod was needed but I have welded the 2 just fine using steel wire and gas. weird how the pool of molten metal jumped across the steel table I had it on. stayed a big ball until it hit the floor. left a trail of soot where it touched.
