I've always driven the speed limit or less (depending on conditions). Yep, everyone else seems to think they have to go at least 5mph over the speed limit. One hill outside of town is 45mph with curves as slow as 30mph. I religiously follow every sign while everyone else seems to just set their cruise control to 50 or 55 mph both up and down the hill.
Of course like you said maybe I won't feel too comfortable on a scooter in that kind of a situation. When I've driven my bus it really doesn't matter to me. And not too much in my little car either. Both drive about the same. Usually I don't have the power to reach 45mph on this hill neither in my bus not in my car. But if I get some jerk in his Hummer on my tail that doesn't like how I can't keep up with the speed limit it might make a huge difference if I'm on a bike. I guess I won't know until I try.
