There was a comment in the Arcimoto thread about the Elio not actually achieving 84 MPG.

It is supposed to weigh 1,250 pounds, but I guess that it cannot be as simple as half of the weight of a compact car, so twice the fuel economy. Isn't our rule of thumb that if you reduce the weight or increase the aerodynamics by 2%, you increase fuel economy by 1%? The Spark, Mirage, and Note are 2,029 - 2,414 pounds and are rated 36-42 MPG highway. 38-52% lighter would, in theory, indicate 19-26% more fuel efficient, so 45.3 - 50.1 MPG.

Which many of us achieve in cars with four wheels, five seatbelts, and a full trunk.

What other factors affect fuel economy? Where can we start with where I am wrong?
