It was I who question the possibility of 84 mpg EPA rated. First aerodynamics hardly come into play in an EPA test, the speeds only average 48 mph in the "high speed" highway test. Even a first gen Insight only gets 59 highway in the EPA test with a manual, the automatic CVT only 49. A 1900 pound hybrid with aerodynamic attention and a 1 liter lean burn engine. If the Elio could even match it I would be impressed but 84 mpg is about impossible in an EPA test for any car.
