I looked up the numbers of fuel consumption for last year of this time. And what the numbers are now.
My last tank with the coolant heater installed (but the first 400km of the 1070km are with the tires at 2,5bar (36psi) instead of 3bar (44psi), had them inflated to late)
Numbers of this tank:
5.84 L/100 km
40.32 mpg (US)
Previus year was around this:
6.09 L/100 km
38.6 mpg (US)
That is a profit of 0.3 L/100 km or 2mpg (US) !
Now up to the weather.
Last year, the average temperature numers are:
Average: 13,6 °C
Average Max.: 17,0 °C
Average Min.: 10,8 °C
This year:
Average: 11,2 °C
Average Max.: 14,9 °C
Average Min.: 6,1 °C
As you see, a lot colder.
The profit in fuel use is probably comming from the following mods:
Full upper grill block, the oil pan heater and the tires with lower rolling resistance.
But the coolant heater takes the profit of the same milage at colder temperatures!!! Because the temperatures where most between 2 and 10 °C that last tank!
If someone want some pics from something, let me know!
