engine pulley question

I was thinking i was gonna take off my air conditioning (to get a boost in mpg of course) but i was looking and unless i can somehow reroute my belt i would get rubbing from the other pulleys. The factory engines that didnt have a/c had an idler pulley. would replacing with the pulley still give me a eco-boost since there wasn't a load (or as much anyway)? I have a 95 astro

it wont let me put links or images since this is my first post but if you google "ac removal astro" then a thread on removal comes up with good pictures.a/c is on the top right.
