No, it's more that the tools you have dictate your thoughts and behavior.
Like a cop who is given a wide assortment of weapons and extensive training in exactly how to use them, but never gets training on how to maintain order without the use of confrontation and weapons. Or in this thread, a driver who is trained in parallel parking and understanding traffic signals but not how to actually drive. They think the only way to drive safely is to either go unreasonably slowly or be in something large. Nobody can sell you safe habits and driving slow is for sissies, so they buy something large and feel perfectly safe.
