I think in the coming years, we will see a shift in attitude. I believe firmly that many people see Luxury SUV's as a status symbol, not as a need. And from here on out, you will see the family's use SUV's more than anyone as it should be, and those that want to have the status will hopefully lead the charge in alternative fuel vehicles in order to make them cool.

It is my understanding that ford is bringing the fiesta over to the US as early as next year, with 9 other euopean models coming this way in under three years.

Begining next year they are also scaling back engine sizes and indtroducing a new line of twin turbo 4 and 6 cyl engines to replace the less efficient 6 * 8 cyl models available now.

Ford is one of the few who has the product ready, they simply need to make infrastucture changes to shift from making trucks to econo cars. This type of shake up was necessary, I can't wait to see what the next couple of years brings us ..
