Non-residue duct tape. I've been using this stuff for a few years. Label says no residue if you leave it on for 6 months. YMMV; and check the label to make sure I'm remembering it correctly.

I used to get it at hardware stores and Home Depot. Supply in those places has become inconsistent at best, so Amazon is now my supplier of choice.
