I think it is the original it's a cheap stamped steel piece the new one is cast aluminum and seems much higher quality. I'm sure ceramic alternator bearings make such a small difference it could never be measured and they'll never pay for themselves but I've always wanted to use ceramic bearing and it could only help economy
