With the Transmission mount sorted I decided to tackle the motor mount.
I started with this, a bracket that mounts to the block of the engine:
Through the magic of
CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) I was able to fab up a mount:
I chose to use the standard Geo rubber mount, and tie right into the normal mounting location, for simplicity.
After a bunch of cussing and reloading the self-exploding spool of welding wire 9 times I ended up with this:
I designed it so the oil filter will clear:
Now the last bit of interference is the belt shield on the alternator. A captive nut is integrated into the bottom mounting tab so I'll have to either trim the shield, or remove it totally and replace the nut with a standard piece of hardware. You can see the interference in these pictures, the engine is not supported by the engine hoist in these:
