Yes, using the best parts on a one off custom build gets costly. I have close to 15K in mine so it adds up fast. I have driven many vehicles in my past but this one tops the fun factor. It was worth every cent I put into it.
I have a hard time believing the Elio will ever be produced and if so there will not be the market after the 40,000 or so get delivered. If they do not get the government loan I think they are dead in the water. Just my thoughts after following them since they started.
All I know is I am enjoying mine while I am still alive and can drive
