Top speed on the SunSwift eVe is a lot more than just 45mph. I just watched their video proclaiming their beating the old time-to-distance record (which had averaged about 45mph) with a new, 62mph average. That's pretty good. I think I heard them say the car's ultimate top is about 82mph.

According to the report, they disabled the solar array for the attempt so the record would be for a strictly electric car.

I expect Tesla will beat this pretty soon. When the 100kwh model drops, they'll have the range to do it.
