At the Green Grand Prix awards ceremony, a group once again received award, after award, after award. Congratulations to all the ecomodders who had the opportunity to attend and show'em what you and your ride are made of!!!

We are the ecomodders, and truly a force to be reckoned with.

Cruising at a mere 204 mpg at the event, this year Centurion is recognized with the following:
- 2016 TOYOTA GREEN GRAND PRIX: Most Innovative Non-Production Car
- 2016 TOYOTA GREEN GRAND PRIX: Most Fuel Efficient Vehicle

There was one more award that was not expected and is the icing on the cake. It's in this photo set and its cover is titled: "New York State Senate". The folder contains a "Proclamation", something I've rarely seen and never received. The writings on it are seen in this photo below:

The above awards are somewhat bittersweet as they also mark Centurion's retirement from competition. For three year's in a row, this little car has exceeded 200 miles per gallon at this SCCA sanctioned event, all while averaging just over the 45 miles per hour target as specified by the organization. The three year average works out to 229 miles per gallon.

The original Centurion created by Robert Q. Riley retired as a legend - forever emblazoned on the cover of the February 1982 edition of Mechanix Illustrated.

The Centurion here at 9 Main Street will also retire as a legend, but of the Green Grand Prix and its image is forever emblazoned in the 2015 historical racing calendar.

It was also announced that the name of this Centurion's driver be stamped on a brass plaque that adorns the side of a perpetual trophy that will be displayed at all future Green Grand Prixs.
-
Centurion was a winner in 1982, and 34 years later, it still is!
