If you are going to go through the trouble of welding a dzus fastener to tiny little wheel weight clip, why not get a real dzus kit, with matching covers and do it right? That way the wheel is balanced with the mounts and you have little worry about unbalanced wheels.
I would think the wheel weights clips would be too much hassle for road side flat tire repairs and if you forget to cut an access hole for the valve stem
