'Popular Science & Mechanix' ran a story in the 1970s or so that had one grainy black and white picture of a Porsche race car with extractive exhaust from the 1950s. I've never seen it since, though I've tried. It's large mixers were in the rear fenders behind the wheel.

I'd like to see that set-up in the front of a bobber truck rat rod with the headers angle up and out at 45°.
