That Napier Deltic engine was interesting, but seems quite impractical. It does surprise me that it actually had a relative popularity for marine and railway applications.

OTOH the Achates engine actually seems quite practical and reasonable, and the strategic partnership with Fairbanks Morse is a good move to enhance the confidence in their business plan. I'd like to see a downsized 2-cyl version of their engine, that would likely fit like a glove into a Subaru.

But anyway, I still would prefer an engine with a single crankshaft such as the old Commer TS3, a.k.a. Commer Knocker.
