Gross vehicle weight is the maximum allowable weight of the vehicle, passengers, cargo, fuel on the vehicle.
Then you have gross trailer weight which is separate.
There is also gross axle weight, that is the maximum weight the axle can handle, usually its a lot more than what the rest of vehicle can handle.
Do take tongue weight into consideration when loading the vehicle and trailer.
Also make sure you don't over load the tires.
