Hi Owl, as a displaced native of the Magnolia state, I'll state that you're definitely in a low-cost area for eco-cars (though they be rare there). In Texas outside of the metro areas good buys can be had too. IIRC, small cars don't get much of a price break on shipping fees, and there's nothing like a road trip to get to know each other! I bought a Ford Ranger for my move from Atlanta, GA to Portland, OR and towed my project Karmann Ghia cross country. Great trip.
