Is that a Russian design, or did VW help?
I found the Ecomodder Cd list.
Vehicle Coefficient of Drag List - EcoModder
Many more vehicles above 0.30 than below 0.30, but you can almost segregated them by age of design.
If that Vaz really is 0.30, it was a stellar example of aerodynamics back in 1995, and quite exceptional.
Handsome too.
EDIT-1
Looking at the Ecomodder Cd list, I could draw an conclusion that European models (in general) were about 15 years ahead of US models (in general) in terms of Cd.
And you could categorize most Japanese models excluding the Prius/Insight hybrid lines as lagging behind Europe too, but at a decade at best.
What I'm saying is that a 2000 Audi and a common 2016 US car have about the same Cd.
And that a common 2006 Japanese model and a common 2016 US car have about the same Cd.
Was US automotive legislation apparently ineffective or stagnant during the Bush/Cheney years?
