If it's like the Insight it will insulate the car from some of the road noise too, making for a quieter ride
From experience I can tell you it'll last longer if you use some really big washers on those screws to hold it up . . . Turtle's original full belly pan (my son owns it now) is still on the car way over a year later with no incidents other than having to re-screw part of the front aluminum piece after an armadillo knocked it loose.
