sluggin' along

I needed to get away from the project today for a little R&R.I hit the thrift shop and found some items which will help in the 'shop'.
'Made a materials run out to Mineral Wells last Wednesday.Got $173 in materials, with a 10% senior discount. Also scored some animal feed which I'll be eating on the trip.Raw peanuts and sunflower seeds at a fraction of the cost of 'human'.Fembot-L fed me lunch and it was 100-miles back home.
I'm generally pleased with how things are coming together. The double-action swing tail works beautifully! This will be the 1st time I'll be able to easily access the bed with a boat tail, and without getting a hernia.
August is typically our driest month of the year, but we've had over 4-inches of rain so far.It could storm for the next few days.
When it thunders I pretty much high-tail it indoors.
Insomnia has been a help for producing 'solutions' for parts of the project. So far,2:30 A.M. is the record for this sort of fun.
For a single task-oriented sort of guy I've been pushing multi-tasking to my limit.
I've let the yard go completely. If I try and maintain it it will cost me the project. Some of the neighbors understand.
I've no idea what I'll have finished by the time I roll out here on the 6th.
And 'finished' must be interpreted pretty loosely!
At some point I'm gonna ditch Toyota's truck bed and make my own.Even without the trip to DARKO I'm pretty convinced that it's square rear flanks are standing between mediocre and really low drag.
