If so , is it the same PayPal link found in permalink#3.
---- ill bring the Sawzall and duct tape to adjust the horns of the lumber rack. They add 3.5" of vertical hight on the corners of the cab.
But I think the 3"×1/8" flat strap should be acting like an air curtain. My theory any how we will see.

I had a little of the crowd-source funds from 2014 left over and I'm happy to kick in some for amateur science.

So I didn't have to drive all the way to Bonneville to make sure you could get back home?
I'd do it again, if I could.

Ogden accomodations
My friend Gary who did the videography in 2014 suffered hail damage to two of his properties along with 90,000 other home owners. He may not be able to show on the 9th.Which means that I'll more than likely be staying in an RV park 2-miles from Darko with my brother who's driving in from Carson City.
I'll know more as time unfolds.

sluggin' along
I needed to get away from the project today for a little R&R.I hit the thrift shop and found some items which will help in the 'shop'.
'Made a materials run out to Mineral Wells last Wednesday.Got $173 in materials, with a 10% senior discount. Also scored some animal feed which I'll be eating on the trip.Raw peanuts and sunflower seeds at a fraction of the cost of 'human'.Fembot-L fed me lunch and it was 100-miles back home.
I'm generally pleased with how things are coming together. The double-action swing tail works beautifully! This will be the 1st time I'll be able to easily access the bed with a boat tail, and without getting a hernia.
August is typically our driest month of the year, but we've had over 4-inches of rain so far.It could storm for the next few days.
When it thunders I pretty much high-tail it indoors.
Insomnia has been a help for producing 'solutions' for parts of the project. So far,2:30 A.M. is the record for this sort of fun.
For a single task-oriented sort of guy I've been pushing multi-tasking to my limit.
I've let the yard go completely. If I try and maintain it it will cost me the project. Some of the neighbors understand.
I've no idea what I'll have finished by the time I roll out here on the 6th.
And 'finished' must be interpreted pretty loosely!
At some point I'm gonna ditch Toyota's truck bed and make my own.Even without the trip to DARKO I'm pretty convinced that it's square rear flanks are standing between mediocre and really low drag.

When Burt Munro (World's Fastest Indian) got complaints about his yard he set fire to it. That shut them up.
Thanks for checking in. You'll be at Darko before I'm out of debt.

0242 here. I should probably lie in bed again and think about what I have done.
Keep up the great work!

DARKO test date has been changed
The little voice in my head told me that September 9th would really be pushing it.I need a little breathing room.
I called Layne at DARKO this morning,we talked, and we've moved the date one week,to Sept. 16th at 1:00 PM.Layne said that for he and Tom,that this schedule is actually better,do to USFRA World of Speed timing.
I apologize about the logistics.
Gary's out due to hail damage. My brother will be at his 50th high school reunion,so he's out as well.
Hope this doesn't wreck plans for a certain Dodge RAM pickup bedcover project.
I'll try and check in this coming Saturday.

I was holding onto the possibility of saying 'screw it' and hitting the road; but I was just at the recyclers and they have a brand new Dexter torsion bar trailer axle for $100.
If it's still there next Monday after the rent is paid, it would be $80 with discount. 48" wide across the mounts, perfect for a teardrop trailer.
Take lots of pictures.
