Interesting, sounds stronger and simpler to build, but harder to DIY than bolting together a bunch of hexagons made from conduit with the ends hammered flat and drilled. I'd go for either from a cookbook or user-friendly design tool. Figuring all the different lengths in advance to make a geodesic tunnel rather than a dome was beyond my skill level.
